20 Best Places to Stay in Paris for Families (With a Map)
Paris continues to be a popular destination with tourists, especially families, since it is not only affordable but offers endless opportunities for fantastic experiences. Of course, there are world-famous museums and landmarks, beautiful parks and churches, and glorious food to be enjoyed, but where to stay in Paris with kids? It’s a question that is commonly asked, but not easily answered. We went out and asked some of our favorite travel writers for the best places to stay in Paris for families and here are their favorites.

Which is the best arrondissement to stay in Paris with kids
Paris is divided into twenty neighborhoods (arrondissements), so you will want to pay attention to the arrondissement when booking your accommodation. Arrondissements are arranged in a clockwise spiral pattern from the center of the city, with the heart of the city being the 1st arrondissement.
Families looking to stay close to the city’s main attractions will want to be close to the 1st arrondissement which is close to the Louvre, Jardin des Tuileries, and Jardin du Palais Royal. This means plenty of access to parks for kids to play and nice walks along the Seine.
The 4th arrondissement is referred to as the Marais district, filled with shops, restaurants, and charming cafés. It’s not far from Notre-Dame Cathedral (there’s a small playground adjacent to it), and it has easy access to the river and metro.
For families visiting Paris who want rooms with Eiffel Tower views (or easy access to the tower), we would recommend the 7th arrondissement. There’s a huge green space on one side of the tower, and the river on the other. This area is also home to the Museé d’Orsay, the Palais Bourbon, and the Rodin Museum.
When you see Rive Gauche (Left Bank), those are the arrondissements on the southern part of the Seine River, Rive Droite (Right Bank) are the arrondissements on the north side of the river. These are some of our favorite family hotels in Paris for you to consider.

Where to Stay in the 1st arrondissement (heart of Paris, close to Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries)
1. Westin Paris Vendôme
The Westin Paris Vendôme has one of the best locations in Paris. Many rooms have beautiful views of the Tuileries Gardens and some even have views of the Eiffel Tower. Part of the Marriott family, it’s a great place to redeem those points.
2. Hotel Opéra Richepanse
Hotel Opéra Richepanse also occupies a prime location in Paris. Located near Opera Garnier and Champs Elysees, it’s convenient to everything families need, including sightseeing and transportation.
The property offers a generous breakfast buffet and adjoining rooms that will sleep up to five people. There are endless restaurant options nearby and room service is available 24 hours a day.
Best Places to Stay in Paris with kids – the 5th and 6th arrondissements (Latin Quarter/Saint-Germain)
Paris Left Bank, and more especially Saint-Germain-des-prés and Quartier Latin areas are among my favorites in Paris. This is a lively and safe district for families, with a wide range of restaurants and typical cafés.
Not to mention that there is a lot to do with kids in this area of Paris. The Luxembourg Gardens, the Botanical Garden, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and a Seine River cruise are all nearby. Two hotels recommended by Virginie at Travel with my Kids (a native Parisian) are:
3. Hôtel Le Petit Belloy Saint Germain
Hôtel Le Petit Belloy Saint Germain is a small mid-range hotel very well located near the Luxembourg Gardens. For families, they offer two connecting rooms, which is a nice solution. (Part of the HappyCulture collection of hotels, see Villa Daubenton below)
4. Hotel Left Bank Saint Germain
Hotel Left Bank Saint Germain is a charming and cozy hotel beautifully decorated like an old mansion with antique furniture and tapestries. The hotel provides a quadruple room with a view of the flowered courtyard that is quite romantic. Excellent location, close to Notre-Dame.
5. Le Prince Régent Résidence & Spa
Le Prince Régent Résidence & Spa is in the 6th arrondissement near Luxembourg Gardens, the Pantheon, and the Sorbonne. The hotel is located in an 18th-century building that has been restored as an apartment/hotel. They offer several suites that can accommodate 4 to 6 people.
6. VRBO Apartment in the Latin Quarter
We stayed in this apartment we rented through VRBO in the 5th arrondissement. The location of our apartment could not be beaten. There were restaurants and shops just under us and an open-air market was at the end of the street 3 times a week.
The apartment is within walking distance of most of the city’s main attractions and between 2 metro stations which made commuting very easy.
7. Pepper & Paper Apartments
Pepper & Paper Apartments are located in the heart of the Latin Quarter and offers 17 apartments of varying sizes. These are close to the Pantheon and Luxembourg Gardens. We loved our stay here when it was previously Villa Daubenton.
The property has easy access to local markets and restaurants, and it’s easy to get to a metro or walk to many attractions on foot. Some apartments offer kitchenettes, so if your family is looking to save money on meals in Paris, this might be a good option.
8. Hôtel d’Aubusson
What’s not to love about a boutique hotel housed in a Parisian mansion that dates to the 17th century? The Hôtel d’Aubusson has an enviable location in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood, with easy access to the Latin Quarter, the Louvre, and Notre-Dame.
The duplex loft rooms are perfect for families and can sleep 4 comfortably. There is a living area and bedroom on the ground floor with a lofted area that is perfect for kids. The hotel also has a 20 meter swimming pool that is one of the largest indoor hotel pools in the city.
Best Places to Stay in Paris near the Eiffel Tower – 7th arrondissement
9. One-Bedroom Apartment with an Eiffel Tower view
Located near the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalids, this charming, 1 bedroom apartment has a view of the Eiffel Tower (when you lean out the window). It is within a block of multiple restaurants, grocers, boulangerie, chocolate shop, and wine shop, and we were close to the famous Rue Cler fresh market.

10. InterContinental Paris Le Grand
The Le Grand is located in the Opera district and generally you can walk most everywhere with a pair of good walking shoes. It took us about 15 minutes to walk to Place de la Concorde near the entrance of the Christmas Market.

11. Hyatt Paris Madeline
The Hyatt Paris Madeline is a charming boutique hotel and some suites have views of the Eiffel Tower and the rooftops of Montmartre. Located in the heart of the Madeline district, families have easy access to boulangeries, attractions, and shopping.
The property has a hamman, spa, and fitness center, and is just a few steps away from the Champs-Elysées and Opera Garnier.
12. Hilton Paris Opera
The Hilton Paris Opera has an enviable location near the Louvre, Opéra Garnier, and the famous department stores; Galeries Lafayette and Le Printemps. Parents will enjoy cocktails in the opulent Le Grand Salon, which is listed as a historical monument.
Families will love the Executive Rooms (that can sleep up to 3 with a roll away) that come with complimentary breakfast and access to the Executive Lounge. These can be connected to another room to make space for larger families.

13. Astotel Properties
We had an issue with our Airbnb reservation (they canceled on us 6 days in advance of the stay and we were already in Paris). I spent five hours of our vacation researching hotels (I was not about to be burned by another home rental) and came upon Astotel, a chain of 3* and 4* hotels throughout the city.
Since we are a family of 5, it is difficult to find rooms that accommodate all of us, hence the creation of our article, the best places to stay in Paris for large families. Thankfully, Astotel had reasonably priced rooms and we found a hotel with a three-person room and a two-person room, each for less than $200/room.
We stayed at the Hotel Acadia, and we could not have been happier. The staff was pleasant, the three person room was spacious, the two person room was standard size. Even better, breakfast was included.
This chain of hotels allows you to stop at any of their properties during your stay for a snack or coffee. We definitely made use of this and visited Hotel George and Hotel Astoria for some lovely treats while out exploring.
The location was close to the Grands Boulevards Metro stop and we walked about 20 minutes to Sacre Coeur. It’s on a quiet side street just off Rue de Montmartre.

14. Pullman Paris Eiffel Tower
The Pullman Paris Eiffel Tower is a five-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower and Park Champs des Mars. Rooms are clean and comfortable and families can stay in a family suite. Some rooms offer views of the Eiffel Tower and Seine River and on-site dining is a perfect option for families after a busy day of sightseeing.

15. Citadines Trocadéro Paris
Citadines Trocadéro Paris is located in a quiet area of Paris between the Champs-Elysées and the Eiffel Tower. This aparthotel offers fully equipped apartments for one to 4 guests, a 20-minute walk from the Musée du Quai Branly.

16. Le Meridien Etoile
The hotel Le Meridien Etoile is just around the corner from the Avenue de le Grande Armee, which runs straight up to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysees. Le Meridien has excellent family amenities and access to all of the things to do in Paris with kids, making it an easy choice.

17. Vacation rental in Montmartre

Where to Stay Near Disneyland Paris with Kids
If Paris Disney is on your radar we have a couple of recommendations:
18. Mickey’s Closest Neighbor Apartment
This vacation rental was perfect for Paris Disney because there was a free shuttle that would take you to Disney. It was only a few blocks away and there was a mall across the street with a ton of amazing shops and restaurants. This one was like a villa in a hotel more than an apartment. 19. L’Elysée Val d’Europe
The L’Elysée Val D’Europe hotel is about a mile from Disneyland Paris, but they have a free shuttle to Disney Parks and Disney Village. It is steps away from the Val D’Europe, a shopping mall with dozens of stores and restaurants.
The hotel can easily be reached by train as it is 800 feet from the Val d’Europe train station, a quick 35 minutes from the Paris city center.
Rooms at this property are quite spacious and they even offer an “XL Family Room” which is a connected space of two rooms, each with two queen beds.
20. Paris vacation rentals can be great for families
If you are traveling with a larger family (most hotels will not allow more than two or three to a room) or on a budget, it may be in your interest to look into renting an apartment during your stay. Some that we recommend or were recommended to us include:

Tips for vacation rentals: Always read the fine print. Only stay at properties with at least 15 reviews. Look for properties with a lot of photos. Consider booking a fully refundable hotel in case of any last-minute issues. Ask questions, if you’re not satisfied with the answers move on.
Book Your Flights – You can find discounted fares using sites like Momondo or Skyscanner. If you want to keep an eye on discount fares, we suggest signing up for Scott’s Cheap Flights, a daily newsletter with flight sales around the world.
If you travel frequently, consider investing in a Priority Pass for airport lounge access. It’s nice to have a space where you can relax before your flight.
Book Your Accommodation
We regularly use Expedia.com and Hotels.com to find lodging when we travel. It’s a great way to compare vacation rentals, hotels, and resorts.
If your family knows they want to stay in a vacation rental, we recommend looking at VRBO and Plum Guide.
Book Your Transportation
For rental car agencies, try Rentalcars.com. We tend to use Hertz simply for the quality of service. If you need airport transfers, we recommend Welcome Pickups.
When traveling in Europe, we use AutoEurope to make our bookings. They find the best rates and allow you to compare different car rental agencies. Europcar is another option. If you plan to take the train, we recommend using Rail Europe.
Book Your Tours and Travel Photos
We regularly used companies like Viator and GetYourGuide to book tours when we travel. Both have great communication and a large variety of activities that work for all ages. Other companies to look at include Tours by Locals and Withlocals.
If you’re visiting a city with multiple attractions, be sure to check out a discount pass, such as CityPASS or Go City. Both are worthwhile investments.

Don’t Forget Travel Insurance
With the state of travel these days, it’s important to have some type of travel insurance to cover any unforeseen accidents, illnesses, threats, or cancellations.
